2010 Adventure (Michigan to Alaska)
The starting date was February 15th 2010 in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan, where we began the trip by doing one lap around the famous Soo-500 Racetrack. This was made possible by members of the board of directors, especially Jan Bailey who has been involved in the race since 1977.
key destinations along our route: Marquette, Mi., Ironwood, Mi., Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Canada, Trans Canada Trail, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, the Yukon territory, Dawson city, and TOK Alaska. At 4,000 miles, we rode a distance of over 200 miles per day, bringing the trip to Alaska, to 20 days. The geographical highlights of the MichCanSka tour were spectacular. The Trans Canada Trail, along with the Yukon Territory, and the original gold rush mining town of Dawson city, Yukon. At last, the Grand Finale took riders across the Top of the World Highway, to TOK Alaska, where the view was nothing short of breathtaking.
